Easy Access Cemetery Tour

From AUD $22.00
  • Duration: 75 Minutes (approx.)
  • Location: Harristown, Queensland

Suitable for wheelchairs, wheelie walkers, and those who don't want to walk too far, this stroll-n-roll tour of one of Queensland’s oldest surviving cemeteries brings the Toowoomba region’s incredible history to life.

Discover ordinary people who did extraordinary things to make the Toowoomba region what it is today: a war hero, a mischievous youngster, farming battlers, an outback queen, a grieving father, an Italian angel, and a pioneering poet, to name a few.

This tour covers about 450 metres of bitumen over 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Along with unearthing the stories of some fascinating people who rest at the Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery, the tour will explore cemetery symbolism, craftsmanship, and funeral and burial practices of a bygone era.
